I haven't posted in forever. I'm really sorry about that. I had a DIY post ready to be written but the pictures wouldn't really send. I'll get that post to you when it's done :) (it's about pancakes-yum!). I have been planning some posts (you know because I have around 11 drafts) but I'll be compiling them in this one. Guess those lyrics!I am going to be taking a top song, guessing the lyrics, and laughing at my failure. I don't like any of the top songs (modern songs are not my thing) but pop songs are the ones that make the least sense so it should be funny. Happy by Pharrell Williams (my version) You might think crazy what I'm about to say Sometimes she's here when you can take awake From her heart every room that could go to space With the air that I don't care Baby by the way Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth Because I'm happy Clap along if you know what happiness is to you Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do You combat news talking this and that (yeah) Give me all you got, no holding back (yeah) But I should probably warn you I'll be just fine (yeah) No offense to you, but we should time is why Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth Because I'm happy Clap along if you know what happiness is to you Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do (Hey, yo! Mm!) (Happy is said multiple times in the background) Bring me down, kingdom Bring me down if love is too (mm!) Bring me down, kingdom Bring me down I say Tell you about (mm!) (Happy is said multiple times in the background) Bring me down, kingdom Bring me down if love is too (mm!) Bring me down, kingdom Bring me down I say Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth Because I'm happy Clap along if you know what happiness is to you Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth Because I'm happy Clap along if you know what happiness is to you Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do (Happy is said multiple times in the background) Bring me down, kingdom Bring me down if love is too (mm!) Tell me in the comments if you want to see more Guess those lyrics posts or if you would rather stop seeing them! Okay, continuing on.. How to cry on cue1. Find something that makes you sad. It could be something that already happened or something that you are imagining that will happen. Wallow in that feeling of sadness, and hold onto it. This one is very hard for me and I can never get to the point of tears trickling down my face, but some people are better at it. I'm still trying, because I want real emotion- it gives a better performance. 2. This works- I tried! Keep your eyes open (even if they're burning) until tears roll down your face. Try to breath shakily and adjust your facial expression so it looks like you're actually sad. You can also look at a light or something for a long time, but this is a good trick if you don't have anything like that. Note: Do not try with contacts because they will dry out and fall out. If you're not a very emotional person, try to combine techniques 1 and 2 (like me!). Toodle-oo! Question of the Day: What made you sad when you did 1? Hey guys,
Blah Blah Blog is actually a VERY common blog name, so I may change it. Got any ideas? (by the way, it would be the same website, just a different name/address) Hey guys...
Sorry for missing my post dates. I just want to say: I will be making a few changes to Blah Blah Blog. 1. I will probably not be able to post as often as once/week. Not only do I have homework, but if I want to do a good, long, detailed post, it will take me some time. But don't worry! I'll try to post smaller posts in the meantime. :) 2. This is really minor, but I'm going to stop capitalizing the titles properly. I used to, but it takes way too long. This is pointless. Why is this on the list? 3. I'm adding two new categories: Minis and Biggies. The Minis will probably be just text (maybe a few images) and be really short. This post, for example, is a Mini. A Biggie will have more detailed stuff, and will be longer. The How to Make your Own Rainstick post is an example. Jules X) P.S, Please comment, share and subscribe! I nearly forgot, but... Question of the Day: What do you think these animals would be saying if they could speak? Post it in the comments! Wondering why I'm posting at 4:27 AM? Look at the title.
God, I hate the kind of nightmares I have. The problem with my nightmares is that I can't get out of them, even if I pinch myself and do certain things. This nightmares was especially bad... So it started off pretty interesting with me in a TARDIS (a thing that can move through time and space- look it up). Me and this guy called the Doctor (it's all from Doctor Who :P) were going in this hallway and we missed this hand thing (when you put your hand there, it opens the door). I noticed, but I'm pretty sure we didn't go back for it. We had to jump over this thing and sneak past a room with aliens in it. Knowing my dreams, I had a feeling these aliens would do some kind of physical harm to me. I tried to get out of the dream, by shaking around and pinching myself. Then, I was in my room, in bed. I wanted to get out this dream. I felt that turning on the lights would help, but there was always some kind of obstacle. Like I have this red bean bag thing... it went up really high and wouldn't let me pass. I couldn't get to the light switch, and reaching for my computer wouldn't work. I remember this blurry feeling in my head, not knowing if I was asleep or awake. The dream repeated itself with me restarting in bed, trying to get to the light switch, but being able to. Sometimes, I would feel half awake and be like, "I've got to feel fully awake!" but then that weird blurry feeling would take over, and the dream would restart again, with me in bed again. I couldn't get out my dream, and it was an awful feeling. Why did I try to wake up every time, do you ask? I was avoiding physical pain, which I knew was going to come somehow. And the blurriness...it was so strange. Though I got minimal pain, that dream was terrible. It's because right before sleeping, I started thinking about the two-sentence creepy stories that my friend Miranda from Creative Chive told me a while ago. My last thoughts before falling asleep were just thoughts forcing the stories out of my mind. Thanks for telling me them, Miranda, I told you I was sensitive! :P I just felt like sharing this experience, don't know why. The way I described it might make it not sound as bad as it was... but I was basically trapped in a world where I knew pain was going to come and I could not distinguish between being awake or being asleep. Question of the Day: What was your worst nightmare? A view will make me happy, a comment will make my day, and an email would be just plain awesome! Toodle-oo! Hello!
My super creative friend from creativechive.weebly.com has a magazine called Imagine Monthly. I'm supposed to be the advice column person, but I don't know who to advise! If you need any advice, write it in the comments with an anonymous name or send it me on the You! page. Imagine Monthly is on http://911miranda.wix.com/imaginemonthly. Toodle-oo! Question of the Day: If you can go back in time to any day and be forced to relive your life from that day onward, which day would it be? or If you can go back in time to any day and relive that day only and get a trip back to your normal time, which day would it be? Please comment, share, and subscribe! (really, it will make my day) Do you guys remember the pleasant noise of the rainstick that your grade 3 teacher used to quiet you? Well, for those who don't, it's this South American instrument that makes a nice rainy sound. My dad and I made it and it was a lot of fun! Things you will need: -PVC pipe or that gift wrap tube thing. Don't use paper towel rolls; they are not sturdy enough. -Nails. When you're hammering them in, make sure they do not stick out through the other end. I feel it would be best to leave some space between the end of the nail and the other end. -Hammer. Hm, I wonder what this is going to be used for. -(optional) Stoppers. I don't think they're actually called stoppers but they're great and I'll tell you why later. This tutorial will be if you want to make it look professional and buy PVC pipe and stoppers. The tutorial can easily be adjusted if you're using gift wrap tube. Step 1: Take your PVC pipe and cut it to desired length. My dad used this tool that I am pretty sure was an electric saw. I think a normal saw would work too. Step 2: Using a visible pencil/marker, draw dots where the nails will be. If you are using a gift wrap roll, there will probably be a spiral already there. If you are using PVC pipe like my Dad and I were, just draw the dots of a spiral going 'round and 'round. At first, we did two visible spiral rings but since the sound was too short, we added two more. Step 3: Hammer the nails into the white dots. The inside should look something like this. (note: my iPad camera is very bad so it's kind of dark where more nails should be visible) Step 4: Grab something like macaroni, rice, beans, or lentils. You can do one or a combination of them. Shake them around in their cans to hear their sounds. If you like them, put them in your rainstick. Test the sound they make. You can always add or remove your sound-makers. Step 5: Though you probably already did this in Step 4, put your stoppers on. If you didn't buy stoppers, you can easily make your own using tape and construction paper. Also, you can decorate your rainstick with construction paper. So there you have it!I hope you enjoyed this DIY!
Even though I didn't do much since my dad didn't let me do the dangerous parts, it was still super duper fun! I'll probably be setting up this really cool system in my room with this rainstick. It will work like this: when the door opens the rainstick flips upside down so I can know when people come in. Plus, I can hear that pleasant rainy sound! Question of the Day: Would you rather be invisible and do amazing deeds (but no-one knows it's you) or be visible and be famous while doing no specifically good deeds? Please comment, share and subscribe so I know there's some people out there reading! :) I do post new posts every week...it is 12:06 AM and I am finishing this week's post...but 6 minutes doesn't count that much, right? Toodle-oo! Hey guys, I wanted to do a DIY post, but I told myself "No Jules, you already did two! Do a life post!" If you wanted a DIY post, dont'cha worry! The next post will probably be one.
Anyway... I wasn't sure what to talk about in life (suggestions would be nice) so I just decided to talk about my days at school. We have NO recess ('cause I'm in a higher grade than grade 6). I used to hate recess, but now that we don't have it...I have a crazy amount of energy! So during class, I'm practically insane. The only break we have is a 45-minute long lunch break, and in that time, you're getting more energy! During school, I always let my true colours come through (which is a really messed up jumble). That means I'm a crazy weirdo at school. :) It's so fun! I feel bad for the people who think they should be normal. Favorite Subjects: Drama Health English Least Favorite Subjects: Everything else. :P English is awesome because our teacher always gets off-topic and we engage in really interesting conversations! And English is usually fun. Creative writing is the BEST!!!! School is boring. Anyway... that's all I've got for today! Sorry for such a short post- I'll post a nice DIY post as soon as I have time to! Toodle-oo! Question of the Day: What would you rather have, the power to see through everything on an adjustable level (from behind layers to an atomic level) or the power to run superspeed? Today, I made molten lava cookies with my Dad! They tasted better than expected, but we did make a few mistakes (being beginner bakers). Don't worry, I'll guide you through it, so you don't make the same mistakes. :) Things you will need: 2 sticks of butter (softened), 2 cups of sugar (we did about 1 and a half to make at least somewhat healthier), 3/4 cup of cocoa powder, 2 eggs, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract (we accidentally added 1 tablespoon- whoops!), 2 cups of all purpose flour, 1 tsp of baking powder, 1/3 cup of dark or semisweet chocolate (at least 60% cocoa, and roughly chopped). Oh right, and an electric mixer! Step 1.Cream together the butter and sugar with the electric mixer. (that's my dad's hand, not mine :P) Add the cocoa powder, eggs and vanilla. Mix it all up until it's combined. Mix baking powder and flour together in a separate bowl. Gradually add it to the butter/sugar/vanilla/powder/eggs mixture. Step 2: Preheat the oven to 177 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Shape the dough into 1-inch balls. We did 2-inch, which I DO NOT RECOMMEND because there is too much chocolate crust and not enough melted lava chocolate. Don't do the same size as us unless you will put extra chocolate in Step 3. The picture is so you can see the distance between the balls. Anyway, place the chocolate balls on a cooking tray (which is lined with parchment paper). Stick your thumb into the ball and place a piece of chocolate into it. Fold the dough over the chocolate so the chocolate is completely covered. Add as much chocolate as you can cover with dough in each ball to add a lot of melted chocolate taste! Step 3: Bake for around 9-11 minutes or until edges are firm and tops are soft. If you want to reheat the cookies, you can just microwave them on a microwave-safe plate. Even though we made mistakes, they turned out delicious! I hope you guys like them.
Credits: My dad (since we did this together), and the Concord Recipe Printing Machine that gave me this delicious recipe. Question(s) of the Day: What do you want Jules to bake next? Also, what is YOUR superstitious number? (mine is 1111) Please post in the comments! Toodle-oo! If there was an easy scale, this tutorial would be a definite 1. Tracing paper is a transparent paper used for tracing and it's great for projects! Things you will need: Normal paper, some kind of container, a brush, a lot of paper towel or newspaper, and a blow dryer. The brush can be a spongey brush like I used or a regular paintbrush. Step 1: Lay out the paper towel/newspaper. Pour the oil into the container. Step 2: Dip the brush into the oil and spread the oil over the paper. If you have any excess oil, just wipe it off with dry cloth or dry paper towel. Step 3. Dry the paper. I used a blow dryer and paper towel. You can use anything that isn't wet or just leave it outside on a hot day. TA-DA! You're done! You might be unable to see the difference, but believe me, it worked! Note: I added WAY too much oil. Be extremely careful and try to add a small amount of oil. Otherwise, you'll have to clean up A LOT like me.
Whoa, a tutorial in only 3 steps! Told ya it was easy. Credit to: unknown24 on http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-TRACING-PAPER/ Question of the day: If you could have 3 of any body part, which would it be? |
